Worms/Bonn, 28 April 2014. KOBIL Systems, manufacturer and market-leading trend setter of innovative technologies for secure data and digital identities, will safeguard Deutsche Post’s new mobile payment function by smartphone with its mIDentity Processing technology.

Beginning immediately, Deutsche Post is offering an alternative to cash and EC card initially in the Cologne/Bonn area. The new payment function, called Paysmart, can be downloaded free of charge in the Appstore as an app for iPhone or Android.

Dealers who would like to make Paysmart available don’t need any new technology in order to accept the customer’s cashless payment. The dealer only needs to register once. The customer can then pay with Paysmart in all registered shops.

Deutsche Post has decided in favour of KOBIL in order to safeguard the payment procedure – as Migros Bank in Switzerland and Ziraat Bank in the e-banking area in Turkey for instance already have.

What’s special about KOBIL mIDentity Processing security technology is that it offers a second channel, encrypted end-to-end and completely controllable. This transacts legitimation and communication securely. That means it doesn’t matter even if SSL or the Internet connection are compromised, because it doesn’t affect the second, secure channel.

Additionally, the technology, in combination with the security server (SSMS), checks each app for integrity before every execution. In the process, the mobile device’s integrity is also checked, thereby for instance detecting a jailbreak or the like.

KOBIL’s solution, which was developed for operation on all platforms and devices including iPhones, iPads, or Android, guarantees security, eliminates possible reservations on the user’s part, and delivers an enormous advantage through increased customer satisfaction.

KOBIL products meet the highest security requirements. Thus the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) evaluated the Trust Center developed by KOBIL and confirmed it under the German Signature Act (CC EAL3+ high). Among other things, the Federal Network Agency uses the product for the root instance of qualified electronic signatures in Germany. Renowned institutes specialising in these matters investigated mIDentity Processing security technology for vulnerability and effectiveness of the protective mechanisms, thereby confirming their highest security standards.
